E3 Has Officially Annouced It’s Death

Yesterday morning on December 12, 2023, E3 put up this picture above on Facebook stating it’s goodbye. I’m going to miss E3 honestly. The booths that the game developers set up each year were amazing. I wish I could have gone to an E3 event. Every year I looked forward to the Summer months because couldn’t wait to hear about the upcoming games and gaming hardware that was going to be announced at E3 each year. It was like a second Christmas for me each year. Now game devs and game companies can just release a video on their socials and website explaining their future projects and I’m happy about that.

We can learn about new projects in development when the game devs and companies are ready to reveal them and won’t have to wait till an expo to reveal them. I don’t want this to be the end of in person gaming events. I know the booths at these gaming events take a lot of time to build and set up but I think it’s worth it when your interacting with the players who love and grew up playing your games. You can gather feedback in-person from players that play your game when you meet them at these events. I hope another event like E3 rises in it’s place, doesn’t get corporate and allows everyone to attend it. We need more gaming events like E3 to gain steam.
